Online Registration (New-to-District Students Only)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the Springfield Public Schools Registration Portal!

New Student Registration for the 2024-2025 school year has not yet opened for Kindergarten - 12th grade. Thank you for your patience as we modify our registration process for the upcoming school year. Please follow our social media or check back on our district website for specific dates.

Please note, if your child is currently enrolled in our preschool program for the 2023-2024 school year, they do not need to re-register for Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. They will automatically be rolled over into Kindergarten. The same applies to current Kindergarten through 12th-grade students enrolled in Springfield Public Schools – they will automatically roll over to the next grade for the 2024-2025 school year.

Important Registration Notes:

  • You must be a parent or legal guardian to register a new student

  • As specified in Board of Education Policy No. 5111, kindergarten enrollments must be 5 years of age by October 1 of the enrollment year. Grade 1 students must be 6 years old by October 1 of the enrollment year (click here to view policy 5111)

  • The student must be domiciled in Springfield, New Jersey (Union County)  to attend our schools.

    • If you are interested in attending the Dayton Collegiate Academy (DCA) as a choice program, please contact the high school directly for information.  More information can be found here.

  • As you move through the forms, the system will automatically save the information you entered.  You may exit the online registration tool at any time, and your documentation should be saved.

  • If you have any students already enrolled in our district, the same online process applies to register any new sibling(s). Once registration is completed, the new student record will be linked to your existing OnCourse Connect portal account.

  • If you have a student you are re-enrolling (the student was already enrolled at any time or school within our district), please contact the school secretary.

Our online registration tool will require you to download specific forms related to your residency and child’s medical information.  Please look closely at each of the forms, as some must be downloaded, completed, and signed by you and/or your student’s doctor before you can upload them.

The following documents will be requested as a part of the online registration and verification process.  While the data is secured and encrypted, if you feel uncomfortable for any reason providing any of these forms virtually, you may proceed without uploading the forms and you will be required to provide them during a scheduled verification appointment.

  • Official & original birth certificate of the registering student(s)

  • You will be asked to provide four proofs of residency & to submit Residency Forms:

    • A complete list of forms of documentation for proof of residency may be found here.

      • Primary: deed/lease, or current mortgage statement, or current municipal tax statement

      • Secondary: one current (last 45 days) utility bill or other legal mail addressed to your name at your Springfield address

        • *If you have just moved to a new address in town, we will accept a confirmation of utilities as temporary secondary proof of residency until you receive a utility bill.  For example, a JCP&L service start date email (usually emailed by a utility company as an appointment confirmation at the time you call to set up services).
