Message from the Principal:
About the Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center, Springfield Public Schools:
Welcome to the Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center, which serves Springfield students in grades PreK-2. Walton School is a special place for children to learn and grow due to its unique early childhood environment, which encompasses such dedicated staff and supportive families. Our school supports the development of the whole child by providing opportunities for learning in all domains that are based on the (NJSLS) New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
I am honored to serve as the instructional leader of such a wonderful school community filled with joy and pride. Our school is thrilled and optimistic for a prosperous start to the upcoming 2022-2023 academic school year, which brings with it many transitions for students, staff, and families. It represents a time of new beginnings filled with anticipation, hope, and opportunities.
The faculty and staff strive to create an environment that is conducive to learning through a rich curriculum with interdisciplinary approaches and instructional strategies that challenge all young scholars with problem-based learning experiences. Through expertise and ingenuity, our teachers will craft an empathetic and effective way to support the academic and social emotional needs of all children.
Walton School is committed to a standard of excellence both with safety and academic integrity, always placing our children as a top priority. In addition to providing a high-quality academic experience within our learner active technology infused classroom setting, our school will also increase its efforts to make connections with students to help them feel accepted and valued.
The Springfield Public Schools’ website, along with our school’s webpage, will assist our families in navigating valuable information regarding programs and policies, school safety and health protocols, family resources, and a plethora of academic and social emotional support systems in subsidizing the early skill development of our PreK-2 students in developmentally appropriate ways.
We encourage our school community to stay connected and informed by following our district’s website at https://www.springfieldschools.com for important school community relations. Please visit our website regularly to find up-to-date information and upcoming events of our district.
Best wishes to a promising and exciting academic school year!
