Caitlynn McTernan, one of our JDHS seniors, created an Assistive Technology Lending Library at the Springfield Public Library.
Through her Gold Scout Award project, fundraising and generous community support, Caitlynn was able to donate two iPads for this new program. Each iPad is loaded with 44 apps, along with a Bluetooth keyboard and an instruction manual explaining the skills targeted by each app.
These iPads can be checked out for two weeks so that a student can truly see which apps work for them. Caitlynn has also donated a non-tech tool box filled with supplemental items, such as different pencil grips and weights, mechanical pencils, a slant board, whisper phones, raised line paper and many others, for patrons to use while at the library. Please download or see copy of flyer below for additional information.
