Dear Springfield Public Schools Families,
At approximately 6:30 pm last night, the district was notified of a threat shared via social media regarding “Springfield schools” in New Jersey. The Springfield Police Department was contacted, and they immediately began an investigation.
After a significant multi-agency investigation, the threat has been determined to be “not credible.”
While it is not a credible threat, out of an abundance of caution, the Springfield Public Schools will have an enhanced police presence across our schools today, Monday, November 25, 2024.
This threat was identified by a brave student in another state who took the "see something, say something" motto seriously. We are grateful for the partnership with the Springfield Police Department in their swift response and we will continue to work together to prioritize our students' safety.
