Springfield Free Public Library Summer Reading Challenge
Beginning Monday, June 22, 2026, Springfield District School Summer Reading Lists and summer reading books will be on display at the Springfield Library. Summer reading print books are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a two-week loan period and no renewals. You may also reserve materials through our library consortium, STELLA, or explore digital options on the library's ebook platforms.
The Springfield Free Public Library invites readers of all ages to participate in its 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, Unearth Your Story, beginning June 17. Participants in PreK–Grade 5 can earn prizes for reading by completing weekly bingo boards, while participants in Grades 6–12 and Adults will be entered into weekly gift card raffles featuring local businesses such as TD Pizza, Picante, Halo Roasters, and more. Additional incentives include a free month of karate from USA Karate, Scream Truck vouchers at ReadFest, and opportunities to win prizes at the library's annual Summer Reading Tricky Tray Event.
